5 words I love

Every word, that exists, brings up certain emotion or no emotion at all. Our brains react to the words we use and hear. Everyone has different levels of comprehension of the same words, which depend on their knowledge, social surroundings, upbringing and personal experience. Even a word like “happy” would bring different pictures to one’s mind. It all depends on how a person sees and understands happiness. Some would feel stronger emotions, others milder, but all would feel something.

I grew up being highly emotional and it took me many years to realize, that strong emotions are not for me. They wear me out. I am looking for a more balanced inner world. I crave for inner peace.

During the last few years, while trying to get a grasp on my anxiety disorder and retrieve peace, I fell in love with 5 words, that express what I long for in my life.

1. Yoga – Most people, probably think of the asanas/poses, when they hear this word. Yoga embraces much more than its physical expression. It means unity of mind, body and soul/spirit. When they are in harmony, you are in harmony and your life becomes in harmony.

2. Wellness – I simply love the feeling this word brings to me!

wellness: the quality or state of being in good health especially as an actively sought goal. lifestyles that promote wellness.

Being well! Well on all levels – physical, emotional, psychological, mental, etc. What can be better? When I hear the word wellness, I feel as if fresh air, neither cold, nor hot, is filling my lungs. Deep, slow breaths. Cool breeze and whiteness, softness. Pastel tones. Meditative music. A green smoothie.

Small, little healthy habits you add to your life every day to overwrite the bad and change the direction of your journey.

3. Manifest – Both good and bad things can manifest, but not in my dictionary. For me manifest is only about the things I wish for and consciously bring into my life. Health, love, happiness, abundance, they all manifest. The bad things appear. This is how my heart feels about this word.

4. Bliss – Kundalini yoga with its kriyas, breathing exercises, meditations, taught me what bliss means.

“Many people think excitement is happiness…. But when you are excited you are not peaceful. True happiness is based on peace.” ― Thich Nhat Hanh
I too believed, that only strong emotions were real and made you feel alive. The truth is they are superficial.

Bliss means supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment. It is much more than skin deep. Bliss is a feeling of total balance and peace. When every cell is singing with joy and contentment. Bliss is being aligned on all levels. Happiness is wide and deep-rooted. You are calm and there is clarity. Superficial emotions usually make you blind for anything else. Bliss expands your horizons. It gives you a strong anchor and you are standing steady. Superficial emotions can easily put one off the track. Bliss is stability.

5. Sabai – There was a restaurant in our area with this name. I got curious what it means and read, that Sabai is a Thai word and it literally translates as happy. It is also used to mean chilled out/relaxed, tranquil. It could address your inner state as well as the surroundings.

I also read, that Thai people use the word twice in a phrase Sabai sabai to give it a stronger meaning. I even remember reading the following definition of sabai: being relaxed on a beach while feeling the freshness of a cool breeze. I loved that. I cannot find this definition now, but I am sure I did read it and I am not imagining.
